Franklin mint Doll Collection Coventry Garden 1983

COVENT GARDEN COLLECTION
This small limited edition collection of dolls
which recreates market sellers of London
in the early 19th century
These dolls are all hallmarked 1983
 
Strawberry Girl
Designed by Kate Lloyd Jones
She is dressed in a Authentic hand tailored  costume
hand crafted of fine bisque porcelain and hand painted with blue eyes and red hair
she wears a navy blue laced up fronted velvet jacket
trimmed with emerald green velvet  ribbon and lace
her 3/4 length skirt is a white cotton pin striped
revealing a  pretty white  frilled petticoat
on her waist she wears a cream floral overlay edged with white frills
she wears a white scarf around her neck trimmed with a posy of flowers
she wears a draw string organza cap  tied with apricot velvet ribbon
she carries a wicker basket of fresh strawberry's
She stands16" Tall

The Ribbon and Lace Seller

hand crafted of fine bisque porcelain and hand painted
with a very fair complexion light blue eyes and blonde hair
She is wearing very pretty pink and white striped dress with her skirt
collar ,arms and wrists all decorated with white analgise lace trim
she wears a high waisted  white broadie analyse Apron tied with pink ribbon
she wears a large burgundy satin bonnet trimmed with lace and ribbons
she carries a wicker basket full of ribbons and lace
She stands16" Tall

with a  fair complexion with rosy cheeks brown eyes and auburn hair
she wears demure high collared white blouse trimmed with
pearls and ivory lace
she wears crisp gingham green and white skirt trimmed with frills and lace
her crisp white apron has three pockets holding sachets of real dried lavender
tied with green ribbon she has tied her straw hat to her apron so she can carry
more Lavender
her black lacer up boots are painted
She stands16" Tall

Hot chestnut Seller

hand crafted of fine bisque porcelain and hand painted
with a rosy complexion and  violet eyes with ringlets of brown hair
she wears a purple floral dress highly patterned with white spots and blue flowers
which opens at the front to reveal  grey with white polka dot petty coat
with a white ruffle trim
she wears a pale blue crochet shawl around her shoulders with a blue ribbon
around her neck
she wears a different floral pattered apron all scooped up
and is finished with a bakers cap
she carries a small brass Dutch oven in one hand and rolled up paper
hold more chestnuts in the other
She stands16" Tall

The Milk Maid Girl

hand crafted of fine bisque porcelain and hand painted
with a  fair complexions with blue eyes and blonde braided hair
she wears a full length navy blue velvet dress trimmed with ruffled lace cuffs
and lace collar she has baby blue ribbon around her waist and sleeves
she has a light blue petty coat trimmed with a white frill which is visible
under her dress she is finished with a yellow scarf and straw hat trimmed
with ribbon her shoes are painted black with blue bows
she carries 2 brass milk containers which are draped over her shoulders
by a wooden harness with leather straps trimmed with brass buckles
She stands16" Tall

Holly The Mistletoe Girl

hand crafted of fine bisque porcelain and hand painted
with a  fair complexion with green eyes and auburn  hair tied with red ribbon
she wears a full length red tartan dress trimmed with a white collar
she is overlayed with a white apron trimmed at the bodice
with scalloped edging to keep warm she wears a emerald green cape
she either wears or carries 2 golden bells adorned with red ribbon
while she carries in her other hand Mistletoe
She stands16" Tall
